Public Information Meeting August 23, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

City of Mequon Voluntary Building Sewer Lateral Rehabilitation

The City of Mequon is hosting another Public Information Meeting for the proposed Building Sewer Lateral rehabilitation work in the Riverdale Park Lift Station ‘F’ area and Riverland Drive Lift Station ‘H’ area. This is a voluntary program that addresses sanitary sewer overflows and the non-compliance with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District requirements. The sewer lateral work includes three parts: (1) a clear water compliance inspection to verify that your rooftop downspouts and sump pumps go to your yard or ditch and are not connected to the sanitary building sewer lateral. In addition, (2) a camera exam of your building sewer lateral and condition report will be delivered to you, and (3) any necessary lateral rehabilitation at no cost to the property owner.

In addition, the sewer lateral work includes (A) rehabilitation of laterals from sewer mains, (B) locating laterals, (C) installation of external clean-outs, and (D) rehabilitation of laterals from external clean-outs.  The laterals have been located and some grouting work has already begun.  The next step is to install clean-outs and complete the final grouting work.

The Public Information Meetings will be held on Tuesday, August 23, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the City Hall (11333 N. Cedarburg Road) in the Lower Conference Room. The meeting will be an informal open house style meeting that allows attendees to stop in anytime to meet with City staff.
