Residents have a wide selection of school choice in Mequon. The City is home to one of the best public school districts in Wisconsin, private schools,  Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), and Concordia University. 

Top-Rated Public Education
The Mequon -Thiensville School District (MTSD) is a public 4K - 12 learning institution that consistently ranks among the highest-performing school districts in the state of Wisconsin. MTSD serves approximately 3,500 students and their families. The District offers a rigorous core curriculum, along with comprehensive educational programming that includes an extensive variety of co- and extracurricular offerings. This combination engages students in their learning and affords them great success.

Private Schools
If parochial or other private schools are your preference, the City has K-9 education through Lumen Christi Catholic School, NS - PR with Mequon KinderCare, PK-KG through Mequon Montessori School, and NS - 8 at Trinity Lutheran Freistadt. 

Higher Education
To top it off, Mequon has quality higher education close to home. Concordia University is a coeducational institution accredited by the NCA, with 78 undergraduate majors and minors, 17 graduate programs, eight accelerated adult education programs and three doctoral/professional programs, and accelerated evening and e-learning programs. In addition, Milwaukee Area Technical College's Mequon Campus offers 23 associate degree programs in liberal arts, applied science, and applied arts, as well as five technical diploma programs and 10 certificate programs.
