City of Mequon Police Department

About Us

Welcome to the Mequon Police Department’s portion of the City of Mequon website.  On behalf of our dedicated staff, consisting of 40 sworn officers and 7 civilians, I want to invite you to take a look around the website and get a feeling for what our department has to offer.  We hope to provide you with helpful information and answers to questions you may have.

Mequon is geographically the third largest city in Wisconsin, measuring over 47 square miles.  The city's eastern border spans approximately 6 miles along Lake Michigan.  Our officers patrol over 215 miles of roads and provide safety and service to over 23,000 residents, and many more business owners, workers, and guests.  The Mequon Police Department has been providing professional police services since 1958.

Our emphasis is on partnering with the citizens and business owners to make Mequon a safe place to live, work, and visit.  To us, policing is more than just responding to calls for assistance.  Our officers are proactive in patrolling the city in an effort to prevent criminal activity, while still available to respond to calls for service.  This style of policing, combined with a focus on traffic enforcement, results in Mequon having one of the lowest crime rates in Wisconsin.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please feel free to contact us at (262)242-3500.  Your comments and suggestions are important to us.

Sincerely,
Patrick T. Pryor
Chief of Police
