2024 Seasonal Highway or Parks Worker (Full-Time)
Time Line: May 20 – August 30 (approximate)(flexible)
Department: Public Works – Highway Division and/or Parks
Hours: 6:30 a.m – 3:30 p.m. (M-Th) & 6:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. (Fri)
Starting Rate: $15.00/hour (no benefits)
Seasonal workers may work in Highway, Parks or both depending on the need of the departments.
Duties may include:

Under the general supervision of the Operations Superintendent, perform highway maintenance duties including filling potholes, road shoulder repairs, ditch line restoration and traffic control flagging.

Perform grounds maintenance duties including landscaping, mowing, trimming and brush pick-up.

Perform miscellaneous maintenance duties such as exterior painting and other duties as assigned.

Perform general cleaning and maintenance of park and pool facilities including cleaning bathrooms, trash pick-up, and light construction.

Perform grounds maintenance including landscaping, mowing, weeding, spreading mulch, trimming, brush pick-up and maintenance of nature preserves.

Miscellaneous maintenance duties including exterior painting and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Ability to communicate both verbally and writing
-
Ability to work as part of a team and under limited supervision.

Ability to operate lawn mowers, weed eaters, string trimmers and related landscape equipment.

Ability to lift and manipulate items weighing up to 50 lbs.
-
Ability to work out of doors in all weather conditions for extended periods of time.

Ability work on your feet for full shift.

Must be 16+ years of age.

Valid Wisconsin driver’s license, good driving record and ability to operate pick-up size vehicles
Note: Individuals hired must provide own safety shoes
