Commissions

Mission
The mission of the Landmarks Commission is to effect and accomplish the protection, enhancement, perpetuation and use of improvements of special character or special historical interest or value and of districts which represent elements of the City’s cultural, social, economic, political and architectural history.

Purpose
The board shall promote and provide active and passive recreational activities, land and water preservation and restoration, and environmental education for the city's residents.

Membership    
The board shall consist of the following nine voting members:  Eight citizen members nominated by the mayor; and one aldermanic representative.

Mission
The mission of the Planning Commission is to assist in the adoption of the master (comprehensive) plan for the City, recommend zoning text and map changes and administratively act on development proposals.

Purpose
The commission shall, in accordance with Wis. Stat. §§ and 66.1001 and chapter 58 of this code; carry out planning and oversite for the orderly physical of the city and areas of its extra-territorial jurisdiction.

Mission
The mission of the Police Commission is the appointment, discipline and removal of all Police Officers within the City as outlined in the Wisconsin State Statutes Chapter 62.13.
