2022 Sanitary Sewer Service Area Amendment

On August 1, 2022 the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC) transmitted a draft adopted changes to the sanitary sewer service area in Mequon. Pending certification by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in accordance with the provisions of Chapter NR 110 of the Wisconsin Administrative Code, the amended service area will become effective.  The proposed amendment adds three parcels over 93 acres into the Sanitary Sewer Service Area. As a result, these parcels can connect to available sanitary sewer.

A public hearing is scheduled for Monday, August 29, 2022 at 7:30pm at at the Mequon City Hall for the purpose of receiving public comment on, and reaction to, an amendment to the sanitary sewer service area for the Mequon area. The public hearing was sponsored by the City of Mequon and SEWRPC. The report  is posted online and on file at the offices of the City and SEWRPC, after review by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewer District (MMSD).

On August 10, 2022, the Mequon Sewer Utility District Commission  discussed the proposed Sanitary Service Area Amendment. At the meeting, the implications of being added into the Sanitary Sewer Service Area and  incurring future sewer charges was discussed. Once parcels are added into the the City of Mequon Sewer Tax District and Sanitary Sewer Service Area those parcels will  be allowed to connect to the public sanitary sewer system once sanitary sewer becomes available.
