COVID-19 Update for the Week Ending Friday, June 5
The City of Mequon, in coordination with the Washington/Ozaukee Public Health Department and other state and federal agencies, continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19.

  • As of this afternoon, there are now 20,249, reported cases of COVID-19 and 633  associated deaths in Wisconsin, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Of the cases in Wisconsin, 184 reported cases of COVID-19 and 16 related deaths are in Ozaukee County, based on information from the Washington/Ozaukee Public Health Department (WOPHD).

  • The City of Mequon continues to offer a large number of its services through the City’s website and in-person services to the community. The lobby of the Public Safety Building is opening to the public, the Public Works Building is open to the public and East Side Fire Station is open to the public on an as needed basis. City Hall is now open to the public from 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Monday through Friday with safety measures in place to safeguard the health of patrons.

  • The Mid-Moraine Municipal Court has resumed in-person monthly proceedings at City Hall with modified operations, such as limited capacity and enhanced sanitization procedures. Court staff sent a letter of gratitude to City staff in the Buildings Division of Public Works and the Police Department that were involved in the set-up and operations, which helped maintain social distancing and prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the Court’s proceedings.

  • The State is launching the Wisconsin Rental Assistance Program (WRAP) in Milwaukee, Ozaukee and Washington counties, which will provide assistance with rent or obtaining a security deposit to secure housing for qualified applicants. While training for organizations administering the WRAP program started this week, those who need assistance can submit contact information now and a representative will reach out as the program moves forward.
