Assessor's Office

The Assessor’s Office is open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and  is able to help with any assessment related questions or concerns by email

 

Clerk's Office

The City Clerk's Office is open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Licensing
Applications for most licenses can be found on the licensing webpage.

Elections
Report to your regular poll site for future Elections - polls are open 7am-8pm on Election Day. 
Completed Absentee Ballots can be dropped off at City Hall: Use the mail slot (South Side of the building -outside- right of the doors) or at the Clerk's Department. Please verify that your envelope is completely certified/filled out and signed prior to dropping off.

Community Development Department

Building Inspection
The City Building Inspection offices are open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to the public until further notice. Our employees are continuing to support projects and requests and will respond to phone calls, emails, postal mail and materials deposited at the City Hall Dropbox. Development Services: Planning, Land Use, Zoning, Signs, and Permits
The City Development offices are open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday​ to the public until further notice.  Staff is continuing to work with the development community.  If your question is about an existing project, please reach out to the contacts you have used in the past.

A number of public information meetings for upcoming projects have been postponed. When dates are established for these projects, the dates will be posted on the City of Mequon’s Calendar and website.

If this is a new project or request for applications, we recommend you reach out to the Planning Division by utilizing the contact information found on the Community Development Department website.

 

Finance Department

The Finance Department offices are open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to the public. The Department also is open to process several types of payments, many of which can be processed online, by mail or by utilizing the drop box located by the south entrance of City Hall. The Finance Department accepts checks by mail or drop box for brush permits, burn permits, dog licenses, utility payments and various accounts receivable. Staff will return your permit and/or dog license by mail.

Online payments are also available for utility payments and brush/burn permits.

Another option available is to set up the City of Mequon as the payee through your bank’s bill pay service. Please use your account number and customer ID number when setting up the City of Mequon as a vendor.

Tax Payments
Any tax payments made after January 31 are payable and mailed to Ozaukee County.

Fire Department

The Fire Department's offices at the Public Safety Building and the Eastside Fire Station are open to the public at this time. For all general inquiries, please contact Jill Wellman, Administrative Secretary, at (262) 242-8781 or by email.

Fire Inspections
Please call Deputy Kurt Zellmann at (414) 254-0369 or by email for assistance with fire inspections. 

Burn Permits
Please visit the burn permit webpage to obtain more information on burn permits or to purchase a permit. Alternatively, residents can also mail a $20 check to: Mequon Fire Department, 11300 N Buntrock Ave, Mequon, WI 53092.  Please include an email address for staff to use to deliver the burn permit once the payment has been processed.

Parks Division

Outdoor park elements, including trails, are open from sunup to sundown.  

Routine garbage removal will continue, but if you find a maintenance issue or have concerns, please leave a voicemail at 262-236-2913.

Police Department 

The Police Department's lobby in the Public Safety Building is open.  The entryway's intercom system is available to the public. The intercom will connect anyone who activates the system with a Dispatcher for assistance. Citizens are required to wear a mask inside the lobby and follow the social distance markings on the floor. 

People are strongly encouraged to use the online services listed below to minimize contact.

Public Works Department

Culvert Payments and correspondence may be dropped off at the Public Works Building at 10800 N Industrial Drive, sent in the mail, or submitted by email to staff.  Mail can be sent to Mequon City Hall.  General Public Works Department inquiries can be also be emailed to Administrative Assistant  and general Engineering Division inquiries can be emailed to the Administrative Assistant, Kaye Redeker.

Brush Site Opens Saturday April 2, 2022
The City of Mequon Brush Site located at 6000 W. Bonniwell Road will be open on Wednesdays from 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. starting on April 2 and remain open during the 2022 season until November 30.  During the months of September - November, the brush site will be open 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Brush permits are available for purchase at City Hall in the Finance Department or through the City website under payments. Please be respectful of the number of people and proper distancing while at the brush site.  If the site is crowded, please wait inside of your vehicle until the other users exit or consider returning at another time.  We appreciate your cooperation in safely operating the brush site.
