Economic Development Board Outreach Event a Success
The Economic Development Board hosted an event for October’s Manufacturing Month at MATC and featured the Homestead High School Robotics Team, Kraken Pinion. The event was co-sponsored with MATC, the MT Chamber of Commerce and Ozaukee Economic Development. Mayor Abendroth and City staff, as well as many of our local industrial businesses, were in attendance. Mequon’s Partnership Bank donated a limousine ride from the school to the event at MATC for the Robotics team, with the Mequon Police Department providing escort.

The event was attended by approximately 100 guests and showcased MATC’s automation resources as well as a demonstration by the high school Robotics team.  The event was considered a success by the Board given the high attendance and the networking that occurred among the students and MATC. The Board planned and implemented the event as part of their business outreach program. Now that the event and several business visits, including Ci-Dell Plastics, Hayes Performance Brakes, Telesmith, Gateway Plastics, and Gen Met have been concluded, the Board will consider new objectives towards business retention and attraction as part of their 2019 work program.
