Ozaukee County Clean Sweep Program Now Accepting Pre-Registration
The Ozaukee County Land & Water Management Department is now accepting pre-registration for the Clean Sweep Program scheduled from 8:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. on May 12. The County Clean Sweep is an opportunity for residents, agricultural producers, and some businesses to properly dispose of hazardous waste and used tires. Pre-registration and a $20.00 vehicle fee is required. It is not necessary to pre-register for tires. There is a fee for tires, based on the tire size. Please see the attached flyer and registration form for additional information.

Ozaukee County Transit Planning Update
Attached is a letter dated April 3, 2018 from Kevin Muhs, Deputy Director of the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC) that provides a response to a letter sent last month from the City of Mequon regarding various proposals to expand public transportation options within Ozaukee County. As indicated in the letter, Commission staff will be recommending that the Ozaukee County Transit Planning Advisory Committee consider expansion of the County’s current On-Demand Shared Ride Taxi program and the inclusion of flexible shuttle bus transportation to provide direct access to businesses within .75 miles of a fixed route, based on feedback received from area businesses and the public. Alternatively, Commission staff will not be recommending further consideration of expanding reverse commute services from Milwaukee County to Ozaukee County or an extension of Milwaukee County Transit Service Routes 12 and 68 to the Mequon Business Park and Mequon Town Center, due to the lower levels of interest expressed these options, and the limited impact such an expansion would provide.
