Parking Lot Nearing Completion
On Thursday, crews completed concrete repairs for the curb, gutter and sidewalk sections of the parking lot shared by the Weyenberg Library, Community Pool, and Rennicke Field.  Temporary parking is being allowed until Tuesday morning, areas with barrels, cones, and caution tape should be avoided by patrons and their vehicles.  Asphalt will then be laid on Wednesday, September 7, followed by pavement marking.  Weather permitting, the lot will reopen on Thursday, September 8.

Mequon Community Pool Exceeds 2021 Attendance Figure
This summer, the Mequon Community Pool was open June 4 - 5 and June 10 – August 27.  Total season attendance was up from years past with a total season tally of 10,491, nearly 1,500 more than last year.  The attendance was backed by 575 pool passes and 268 Super Passes which allow admittance to pools in the neighboring Cedarburg, Grafton, and Port Washington Pools.  The pool closed out the year with a Dog Day where patrons could bring their dogs to the pool and enjoy the water together.  The pool is looking forward to hosting new fun events in the 2023 season.

Citizen’s Guide to Wisconsin Cities and Villages
Municipal government is all around us.  While many of us encounter some aspect of municipal government daily, people are often confused about what services cities and villages provide and how they are funded.  The League of Wisconsin Municipalities maintains a guide to city and village government in Wisconsin.  It provides basic information about how municipal government is organized and funded, and how it differs from other local governments.  Access to the guide is available here.

Taste of Mequon is Next Week
Taste of Mequon 2022 is next Saturday, September 10!  Plan to join friends and family at City Hall from Noon – 9:00 P.M. for a day of fun, music, and great food.  Many artists and craftsmen will be in attendance featuring their handcrafted goods.  The Children’s Area will be open from 12:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. with a giant slide, obstacle course, and bounce house.  Make sure to check-out BE Martial Arts demonstrations, Little Sprouts Play Café necklace making, Let’s Celebrate party ideas, the MTEF Color Run sign-up, Board & Brush painting, Missing Links putting practice, Bingo the Balloon Clown, face painting sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association, and a caricature artist.  All activities are free of charge.  Don’t miss this great community event!

City Offices Closed on Labor Day
All non-emergency City offices will be closed on Monday, September 5, in observance of Labor Day. City offices will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, September 6.

Save the Date for the JCH Fall Harvest Celebration on 9/17
The Jonathan Clark House Museum is hosting a new event this month, the Fall Harvest Celebration taking place on Saturday, September 17 from noon – 3:00 P.M.  The event will celebrate their bountiful potato harvest and the arrival of Fall.  During this free outdoor community event, families can enjoy games, hands-on historical demonstrations, tours, the harvest, smores, and other light refreshments.
