How to Report Power Outages or Downed Power Lines
To report a power outage or check on the status of pending restoration, residents can use this link.  Typically, We Energies will repair outages within 72 hours. Outages involving major equipment failure or underground cable faults may require repeat visits and more than 72 hours to repair. In such cases, they will notify you of the delay.

Additionally, overhead power lines can carry more than 500,000 volts. Touching one of the lines can provide a path for electricity to the ground and hurt or kill someone. Assume all power lines are energized and dangerous.  Downed power lines can hurt or kill, even if they do not spark, hum or "dance." Stay away from anything touching the line, such as a tree, fence, vehicle, etc. Call 911 and We Energies (800-662-4797) to report it.

Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Center
Residents can dispose of hazardous items, such as oil-based paints containing chemicals that can contaminate soil and water, in a responsible manner by taking them to Veolia ES Technical Solutions, LLC located in Port Washington (1275 Mineral Springs Drive) on Mondays from 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.  For a full list of items accepted and any applicable fees, please see the attached list.

September is Library Card Sign-up Month
There’s nothing more empowering than a library card. Through access to technology, media resources and educational programs, libraries provide people of all ages the opportunity to pursue their dreams and passions.  Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, the American Library Association and libraries unite in a national effort to ensure every child signs up for their own library card.

Do you have friends who don't have library cards? Invite them to sign-up during September.  Visit the Frank L. Weyenberg Library online or in-person to see what's new and take part in the celebration!
