COVID-19 Update for the Week Ending Friday, October 23
The City of Mequon, in coordination with the Washington/Ozaukee Public Health Department and other state and federal agencies, continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19.

  • As of this afternoon, the State has had 190,478 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 1,745  associated deaths. Of the cases in Wisconsin, 2,068 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 23 related deaths have been in Ozaukee County, based on information from the Washington Ozaukee Public Health Department (WOPHD).
  • Residents looking for more testing options around the state and region can check the Department of Health Services (DHS) testing website.
  • DHS will be reporting the number of patients at the Alternate Care Facility located at Wisconsin State Fair Park.

Cancelation of Drive-Thru Drug Take Back Day Event
The Drive-Thru Drug Take Back Day scheduled to take place on October 24 at Concordia University has been canceled. Alternatively, other drug drop-off events taking place this Saturday, October 24, will be held at the Thiensville Village Park located at 250 Elm Street from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. and at the Ozaukee County Transit Center located at 741 W. Oakland Avenue, Port Washington from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.

In-Person Absentee Voting Continues
In-person absentee voting will continue next week.  All Mequon residents who wish to vote absentee in-person can come to City Hall on Monday through Thursday from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Friday.

County to Host Clean Sweep Event on Saturday, October 31
The Ozaukee County Clean Sweep event is an opportunity for residents, agricultural producers, and some businesses to properly dispose of hazardous waste, used tires, electronics, and appliances.  The event will be held from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 31, at the Ozaukee County Highway Shop located on 1221 Hilltop Drive, Town of Cedarburg.  Fees may apply for the disposal of certain items. A Habitat Haunting at Mequon Nature Preserve, October 31 
The Mequon Nature Preserve will host a Halloween event on Saturday, October 31, from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.  Hike the trails along Streich Family Wetlands and Trinity Creek in Halloween customs.  Preserve staff will be at the main entrance of the Pieper Power Education Center to show guests where to go.  All staff will be in costume, wearing masks and gloves while handing out goodies.  All ages are welcome.  All dogs must be kept on a leash.  Please click here to view a YouTube video about the event or see the attached flyer for event details.
