Preview of 5/10 Committee of the Whole & Council Meetings 
Starting at 6:45 P.M on Tuesday, May 10, the Committee of the Whole will discuss the following:

  1. Status updates on the Fire and Police Departments’ Staffing Studies that were completed in 2017. 
  2. How the District 8 Aldermanic Vacancy will be filled. 

Starting at 7:30 P.M., the Common Council will hold its May monthly meeting. The meeting will begin with a public hearing regarding the following:

  • An 86-Acre parcel located on the west side of Swan Road adjacent to Huntington Park and rezoning it from 5 acre lots to 1 acre lots for an 83-lot single-family residential development.

  1. Create Section 10-26 of the Mequon Municipal Code related to swimming pools, allowing automated pool covers in lieu of fences.
  2. Authorize execution of a Compensation Study with Carlson Dettmann Consulting.
  3. Revise two Aldermanic Districts due to Assembly Redistricting, and assign Polling Sites to Aldermanic Wards.
  4. Authorize the City to enter into a Master Equity Lease Agreement with Enterprise Fleet Management for the passenger and light-truck vehicle segment of the City’s fleet.
  5. Approve submittal of a grant-funding application to WisDOT for road replacement work along Mequon Road, N. Lake Shore Drive, and Zedler Lane.
  6. Award the County Line Box Culvert Replacement Contract to C.W. Purpero, Inc.
  7. Consider a boundary amendment to the City’s Sanitary Sewer Service Area.
  8. Award contracts to rehabilitate laterals by grouting from mains and manholes to Visu-Sewer, Inc. and to inspect the rehabilitation of sewer laterals by grouting from mains and manholes to Bloom.

Wisconsin Midnight Piper to Honor Fallen Law Enforcement
Join members of the Mequon Police Department on Friday, May 13 to honor fallen Law Enforcement Officers at 11:55 P.M.  Pipers are set to play “Amazing Grace” at various Police Departments and Memorials throughout Wisconsin and other states, including the Mequon Police Department at 11300 N. Buntrock Avenue.

Community Blood Drive Scheduled for next Friday, May 13
A Community Blood Drive is set to take place at Mequon City Hall, 11333 N. Cedarburg Road in the Council Chambers from 7:00 A.M. - Noon on Friday, May 13. To reserve a spot please click here or call 877-232-4376.

Ozaukee County Clean Sweep Program to Take Place May 14
The 2022 Ozaukee County Clean Sweep is taking place on Saturday, May 14 from 8:00 A.M. to noon at 1221 Hilltop Drive in Cedarburg.  The drive-through event is an opportunity for residents, agricultural producers, and some businesses to properly dispose of hazardous waste and used tires. The Ozaukee County Land and Water Management Department is sponsoring this Clean Sweep program, partnering with the Ozaukee County Highway Department and Veolia Environmental Services.  Get more details and fees here.
