Newly Established Emergency Loan Fund Program Sees Immediate Response
Since Common Council approval of an Emergency Loan Program on April 28, the City has received 18 applications for funding and nearly twenty other inquiries. With assistance from Ozaukee County Economic Development and Finance Department staff, the Community Development Department has finalized approvals on 12 of the 18 applications. Staff is waiting on additional information from the remaining applicants. Given the Council’s action on May 12 to allocate an additional $250,000 to the program, and assuming the City can execute all current loan applications, the program’s fund balance remains at approximately $175,000. All told, this remaining balance allows for the execution of more than 11 additional loans at the maximum amount of $15,000 per loan.

Liquor License Deadline Extended
In an effort to help local businesses, the deadline for applying for an annual liquor license (starting July 1) has been extended to June 15.  The original deadline of May 1 has been extended to allow businesses more time to apply, and any business that has paid a late fee will receive a refund. The Finance-Personnel Committee, at its May 12 meeting, approved the addition of a Special Meeting on June 30 at 6:00 p.m. to timely approve all licenses submitted by the new June 15 deadline.
