Flock Camera System Leads to Four Recovered Stolen Vehicles
In the last week, the recently installed Flock Camera system has alerted the Police Department to the presence of seven different stolen vehicles operating in the City of Mequon.  The Department was able to respond to these locations, locate four of the seven stolen vehicles, recover them, and make arrests.  It should be noted that none of these vehicles were stolen from/within the City of Mequon.  Rather, the vehicles were found here as the drivers were passing through the community. This camera system continues to be a force multiplier by assisting and directing officers to the presence of vehicles associated with crime within the City.

Police Department On-Site Accreditation Assessment in April
A team of assessors from the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group (WILEAG) will be on-site April 5–7 to examine all aspects of the Police Department’s policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services.  As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling 262-242-7249 on April 6 between 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M.  Calls will be handled by the WILEAG Assessment Team assigned to conduct the assessment. The public may also appear and speak in person to the WILEAG examiners on April 6 at 4:00 P.M. in the Lower-Level Training Room at the Mequon Police Department on 11300 N. Buntrock Avenue.  See the attached memo for additional information.

Annual Dog License Renewal Reminder
All dogs in the City are required to be licensed annually. To renew or attain a new license, please visit the Finance Department at City Hall. A current rabies immunization statement from a veterinarian must be on file or accompany payment to receive a license. The Finance Department accepts checks or cash only. The fees are $15 for a non-neutered male or unspayed female and $10 for a neutered male or spayed female.  A $5 late charge fee will be applied for dogs licensed after March 31.
