New Rules for Casting Absentee Ballots
Absentee ballots, for those that have a requested one for the April election, will be mailed next Tuesday.  There have been changes to the law regarding absentee ballots since the last election that voters need to be aware of.  In the past, voters were able to return their ballot along with a family member’s ballot.  For the April 5 election, voters will only be able to deliver their own ballot to the Clerk’s Office, as multiple ballots will not be accepted.  Each voter is responsible to deliver their own ballot.

Another change in election law is the use of the drop box at City Hall.  No longer can an absentee ballot be placed in the City’s drop box.  Any ballot that is placed in the drop box will not be counted.

There are three ways to return an absentee ballot for the April election.  Mail it back, deliver your own ballot to the Clerk’s Office during regular business hours, or deliver your own ballot to the polls on election day, April 5, from 7:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M.

Annual Sanitary Manhole Structure Rehabilitation to Begin
Next week, National Power Rodding trucks and crews are scheduled to begin annual Sanitary Manhole Rehabilitation work.  To complete this work, temporary traffic control is required (trucks with flashing lights) and this may temporarily modify traffic patterns.  This rehabilitation work will move throughout various locations in Mequon, based on previous inspections.  This work extends the life of the City’s infrastructure assets, reduces infiltration that may occur during wet weather, and helps to maintain a reliable wastewater collection system.

WisDOT Road Project Updates
The existing WIS 57 (Green Bay Rd.) bridge over W.
