COVID-19 Update for the Week Ending Friday, June 12
The City of Mequon, in coordination with the Washington/Ozaukee Public Health Department and other state and federal agencies, continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19.

  • As of this update, there are now 22,246, reported cases of COVID-19 and 689 associated deaths in Wisconsin, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Of the cases in Wisconsin, 197 reported cases of COVID-19 and 14 related deaths are in Ozaukee County, based on information from the Washington/Ozaukee Public Health Department.

  • The City continues to offer a large number of its services to the community through its website or on an in-person basis. The lobbies of the Public Safety and Public Works Buildings are open to the public and the East Side Fire Station is open on an as-needed basis. Beginning Monday, City Hall will be open to the public from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with safety measures in place to safeguard the health of all patrons.

  • The Federal Trade Commission has launched a website dedicated to helping consumers avoid becoming a victim of fraudulent Coronavirus treatments.

  • The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has updated its listing of COVID-19 testing sites with additional locations. Each site may have different requirements. Some sites offer drive-through service while others provide indoor testing. Many sites require an appointment in order to speed processing times by collecting such information in advance.

Mequon Public Market Re-Opens
The City has received a number of inquiries regarding the Mequon Public Market, and all businesses within the Spur 16 Development are now re-open for business. Additionally, Mequon Public Market held its first Outdoor Makers Market on June 6.  Look for more events to come at Spur 16 over the summer, including a weekly farmer’s market held on Saturdays. Notably, the development was designed to accommodate markets along Mequon Road on an interior walkway from the Public Market westward to the Yoga and Pilates studio.

Mequon Community Pool Now Open
The Mequon Community Pool opened today, Friday, June 12.  The 2020 operation of the pool is different than in years past to provide proper staffing and sanitizing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Restrictions are posted at the pool and on the City’s website.  Patrons must be Mequon-Thiensville residents (minors may be accompanied by a non-resident adult) and will be required to have temperature checks and provide information for contact tracing prior to entering.  Entry is provided with the purchase of a daily pass; no seasonal passes will be offered.  No pool deck furniture will be provided; patrons are able to bring in chairs. The diving boards are also closed. The first hour of operation is restricted for patrons over the age of 50, and subsequent pool hours will include a mid-day closure to allow for proper sanitizing.  Re-entry to the pool is subject to an additional daily pass fee.
