City Offices, Brush Site Closed in Observance of July 4th Holiday
All non-emergency City offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day. City offices will resume normal hours on Monday, July 6. Additionally, the Brush & Yard Waste Disposal Center located at 6000 W. Bonniwell Road will be closed on Saturday, July 4. 

COVID-19 Update for the Week Ending Friday, June 26
The City of Mequon, in coordination with the Washington/Ozaukee Public Health Department and other state and federal agencies, continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19.

  • As of this update, the State has 29,738 reported cases of COVID-19 and 793  associated deaths in Wisconsin. Of the cases in Wisconsin, 247 reported cases of COVID-19 and 16 related deaths are in Ozaukee County, based on information from the Washington Ozaukee Public Health Department (WOPHD).

  • WOPHD recommends the use of cloth face coverings in public settings and when around those who are not a part of your household, especially when other physical distancing measures are difficult to maintain. Additionally, WOPHD recommends avoiding mass gatherings.

  • The FDA and USDA issued a joint statement noting that there is no evidence of COVID-19 transmission from food or food packaging.

The City continues to offer a number of its services online, as well as in-person at City facilities. City Hall is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday, and the Public Safety and Public Works Buildings are also open during normal hours of operation.

Absentee Voting Available Through the City Clerk’s Office
Starting today, voters that would like an absentee ballot mailed to them for the August 11 and the November 3 elections can contact the City Clerk’s Office.  A photo ID must be on file in order to receive a ballot.  Please click here to access the online ballot request website, Myvote, or contact the City Clerk at 262-236-2911, or cfochs@ci.mequon.wi.us.  In-person absentee voting will begin on July 28 during normal business hours.

Gateway Promenade Construction Begins
Community members gathered this week to celebrate the initiation of construction for the Gateway Promenade.  Members of the Rotary Foundation, Groth Design, staff from both communities and Village President Mobley and City Mayor Wirth were present for the recognition.

Festivals Committee to Forego Alternative Event
Following the cancellation of Taste of Mequon 2020, the members of the Festivals Committee met on June 15 to discuss the possibility of creating an alternative event. At the meeting, the Committee agreed to send out a survey to past restaurants to gauge whether there was any interest in participating in a virtual event.  The survey was sent to nineteen restaurants, eleven responded.  On June 29, the Committee met to review the results, and based on the restaurant’s response to the survey question, the Committee has decided to focus on advance planning for the 2021 event.

Long-Time Public Works Employee Retires
After 21 years in the Public Works Department, Section Forman Steven Dobberfuhl punched the time clock for the last time today, July 2. Steve has been a part of several operations ranging from emergency weather event responses to large scale public works projects that have improved the community. The City of Mequon extends a thank you to Steve for his career of service to the community and wishes him the best retirement.

Community Blood Drive Scheduled for Friday, July 10 at Mequon City Hall
A community blood drive will be held from 7:00 A.M. - Noon. on Friday, July 10 at City Hall, 11333 N. Cedarburg Road. All donors will be required to wear a face mask as a precautionary measure.  Please bring a mask as a limited supply of disposable masks are available. Appliance & Electronics Recycling Event Scheduled for Saturday, July 25
As a reminder, two (2) Electronic and Lawn Equipment Recycling Events are scheduled for Saturday, July 25, and October 24, from 9:00 A.M. - Noon at the Public Works Building, 10800 N. Industrial Drive. Please click here for a listing of items that will be accepted.
