Police Department Begins Working Towards Accreditation
Accreditation is a progressive and time-proven way of helping departments evaluate and improve their overall performance. The Police Department is in the beginning stages of working towards accreditation with The Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group (WILEAG). This group promotes excellence in law enforcement through participation in their program. Accredited agencies demonstrate compliance with applicable standards covering all aspects of law enforcement administration and operations.  This is a lengthy process which will require the Department to demonstrate compliance with each of the approximately 240 WILEAG Standards.  The Department has set the aggressive goal to achieve accreditation in 2022.
