City Seeks Additional Adopt-A-Roadway Program Participants
The City of Mequon Adopt-A-Roadway program is designed to encourage and recognize local groups, (e.g., schools, scout troops, churches, business and civic organizations, families) to “adopt” a two-to-three-mile section of Mequon’s local roadway. The program offers groups the opportunity to contribute to the community by picking up roadside litter while generating positive publicity for the group’s service activities. To learn more about the City’s Adopt-A-Roadway Program and roads available for adoption, please click here. Currently, some of the roadway segments in Mequon available for “adoption” include:

  • Bonniwell Road (Wasaukee Road to Riverland Road)
  • Riverland Road (Bonniwell Road to Pioneer Road)
  • Highland Road (Wasaukee Road to Cedarburg Road)
  • Wasaukee Road (Mequon Road to Pioneer Road)
  • Granville Road (County Line Road to Mequon Road)
  • County Line Road (Granville Road to Swan Road, or Wauwatosa Road to Cedarburg Road)
  • River Road (County Line Road to Mequon Road)

For additional information or to adopt a roadway, please contact Tim Weyker, Deputy Director of Public Works, 262-236-8145, tweyker@ci.mequon.wi.us.

Save the Date for Candlelight Walk-In-The-Woods on 2/19
The Mequon-Thiensville Sunrise Rotary Club and the City are excited to again partner for the second year offering a Luminary “Walk-In-The-Woods” at Pukaite Woods in Mequon’s Rotary Park.  The event will take place on February 19 from 5:30 P.M. - 8:30 P.M.  The event offers a unique opportunity for residents to experience the solitude of a candle-lit walk in the winter, a time of year when residents do not typically frequent the Parks.   The event is free to the public, masks are optional. The public restrooms will be open, and volunteers from the Rotary Club will be serving hot cocoa, cider, and coffee with bonfire stations positioned throughout the park.  Dogs are allowed but must always be leashed.
