COVID-19 Update for the Week Ending Friday, December 18

The City of Mequon, in coordination with the Washington/Ozaukee Public Health Department and other state and federal agencies, continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19.

  • As of this afternoon, the State has recorded 451,676 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 4,315 associated deaths. Of the cases in Wisconsin, 5,784 confirmed cases and 45 related deaths have been in Ozaukee County, based on information from the Washington/Ozaukee Public Health Department (WOPHD).
  • As noted last week, Washington and Ozaukee Counties have partnered with Curative, Inc. to provide free oral COVID-19 testing at Washington County Fair Park and Ozaukee County Fairgrounds. Testing began this week and will remain available Monday through Friday. The tests are self-administered PCR oral swabs. Results are texted or e-mailed within 48 hours. Testing is open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at each location. Residents do need to register ahead of time to guarantee a test and bring their insurance cards and a photo ID. Testing is free, with no out-of-pocket costs. Individuals without insurance will not be turned away. Appointments can be scheduled online through Curative's website.

Per usual, the City continues to encourage residents and businesses to help limit the spread of COVID-19 throughout the community by wearing a mask, adhering to proper social distancing protocols, avoiding large gatherings, following proper hygiene practices and staying home when sick.
