City Issues COVID-19 Updates for the Community
The City of Mequon continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19 and share information with the public. The City is posting updates online, which can be accessed by clicking here, during this emergency as conditions warrant, and as new or updated information becomes available.

City Earns Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting
The City received notice from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) that the City’s Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for Fiscal Year 2018 has received the Association’s Certificate of Achievement. The PAFR is a summary of the City’s financial activities and is intended to increase awareness throughout the community of the financial operations of the City. This is the fifth consecutive year that the City has received this award. The 2018 FAFR can be viewed on the Finance Department’s website by clicking here.

Alternative Arbor Day Celebration Free Tree Pick-Up Scheduled for Wednesday, April 29
The City of Mequon’s Arbor Day Celebration that had previously been planned to take place at River Barn Park on April 26 was cancelled, due to the Safer at Home Order. Alternatively, the City will hold a drive-through tree give-away at the Department of Public Works (DPW) Building on 10800 N. Industrial Drive from 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 29.  The trees will be pre-packaged with both planting and watering instructions included.  The packages will consist of two to three pre-determined tree/shrub varieties, as numbers allow. Those wishing to pick-up trees must sign-up for a timeslot, by clicking here, in advance in order to help maintain social distancing requirements. Census 2020 Response Rate
Are you curious about how many people are responding to the 2020 Census?  According to a report issued this week by the US Census Bureau, Wisconsin tied with Iowa for the highest daily total self-response rate at 1.0% each for Midwestern states, followed by a 5-way tie between Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Nebraska and Ohio at 0.8% each. As of this week, Wisconsin’s cumulative total self-response rate stands at 58.4% with Ozaukee County’s cumulative total self-response rate at 70.2%. Of Ozaukee County’s total self-responses, 68.7% have been submitted online to the US Census Bureau to date. To follow the 2020 Census response rate visit the U.S. Census Bureau’s online map.
