Spring Election Set for Tuesday, April 5
On Tuesday, April 5, polling sites will be open from 7:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M. for the 2022 Spring Election. To find out what is on the ballot or where to vote click here.

Brush Site Opens this Saturday
The City of Mequon Brush Site is located at 6000 W. Bonniwell Road and will be open on Wednesdays from 7:30 A.M. - 7:00 P.M. and Saturdays from 8:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. starting on April 2, and will remain open during the 2022 season until November 30.  During the months of September - November, the brush site will be open 8:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. on both Wednesdays and Saturdays.  Brush permits are available for purchase at City Hall in the Finance Department or through the City website under payments. Local Appliance & Recycling Events Discontinued for 2022
Due to a change in vendor participation, the City of Mequon will no longer be hosting Appliance and Recycling Events at the Public Works Building.  All Ozaukee County Residents are welcome to participate in the Community (Appliance & Electronics) Recycling Events at Fireman's Park located at W65N796 Washington Avenue in Cedarburg. Refrigerant Depot LLC will be collecting items.  Please see the attached flyer for more information and acceptable items.  The Saturday collection dates are April 30, June 11, and September 24 from 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

City’s 24th Citizens’ Police Academy Graduates
The Mequon Police Department recently graduated its 24th class of the Citizens’ Police Academy (CPA). The class consisted of individuals that either reside or work in Mequon or Thiensville. The class members learned new things about the day-to-day operations of the Police Department and enjoyed a variety of hands-on activities and demonstrations that covered different topics each week. The CPA is hosted every year in the spring. If interested in participating next year, please watch for information in early January of 2023.  

 WisDOT I-43 North-South Project Updates
Next week, a full closure of I-43 Northbound from Brown Deer Road to Mequon Road is planned during the overnight hours on Friday, April 8 for mill and overlay pavement repairs.  The detour route is Mequon Road to WIS 181 to Brown Deer Road.  This closure is weather dependent and subject to change.   Also, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation released this week a Get Around Guide that provides a schedule for the I-43 North-South Reconstruction Project for Spring 2022.  2022 construction focuses on expansions and improvements to the North End and County Line Road/Port Washington Road Interchange Segments.  View it here.
