Cedarburg Road and Freistadt Road Open to Traffic
As of Saturday morning, September 14, Cedarburg Road was opened to traffic by the striping contractor. Freistadt Road has also been completed as part of the 2019 Road Program.  Minor striping remains on the Freistadt Road project and is being completed by the Department of Public Works crews. The road program contract finished well ahead of the November deadline. This week Engineering Division staff worked on developing the final list of items to be completed by the contractor for both roadways. A summary of the project contract, results, and overall performance will be presented to the Public Works Committee at an upcoming meeting after the final items and contract payments are complete.

Fire Department is Featured in the Mequon Beacon
Members of the Mequon Fire Department are featured in the latest issue of the Mequon Beacon Magazine that has arrived by mail in the past week. The Beacon article shares the backstories of the members and their involvement in the Fire Department. The City is grateful for the opportunity to have the Fire Department highlighted within the Beacon and hopes readers will consider joining the department. Road Maintenance Projects Finish Ahead of Schedule
Crack Sealing and GSB 88 surface sealing road maintenance contracts have been completed. The roadway striping is being finished by the Department of Public Works crews.  Staff in the Engineering Division are in the process of verifying if there are any outstanding items the contractor needs to take care of prior to the final contract payment.  This project’s contract summary will also be presented to the Public Works Committee at an upcoming meeting once it is complete.

2019’s Final Appliance & Electronics Recycling Event Is One Month Away
The City’s last Appliance, Electronic & Lawn Equipment Recycling event for 2019 is October 19.
