Café Hollander Hosting Grand Parking Lot Re-Opening Event Scheduled For November 2
Café Hollander is holding a "Grand (Parking Lot) Re-Opening Party," a free community event, from 5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. on November 2. The event will celebrate the opening of the new Civic Campus parking lot and will feature a free beer tasting, a raffle, and a new fundraising program for Homestead Athletics. There will be two new beers to sample for free, live acoustic music, and a new “Homestead Highlander Burger.” A portion of the proceeds will support Homestead Athletics.

There has been a rumor circulating in the community over the last few months that the Mequon Hollander is closing. The owners indicate that nothing could be further from the truth, the business is healthy, and are encouraged by all of the recent growth with the addition of the Public Market and Foxtown. Come join Café Hollander in celebrating the continued growth in Mequon at this free community event. Please see the attached flyer for further details.

Department of Public Works Ends Summer Hours
The summer hours for the Department of Public Works ended on Friday, October 12. While “summer” ended for many before now, the modified work hours allow the Department of Public Works to take advantage of extended daylight, reduced heat index, reduced traffic flow and increased efficiency of larger-scale projects. As the operations turn to restoration, tree removal and winter snow removal, so comes the resumed normal hours from 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M., Monday through Friday.

Police Department Joins the “Ring Doorbell” Neighbors Portal
The Mequon Police Department has joined Ring Neighbors Portal to provide crime and safety information to the community. The Neighbors Portal is for sharing video recordings of what is happening in neighborhoods. The Portal also allows the Department to request video from areas of the City where the Department is investigating a crime that has just been committed. The Department looks forward to working together with the citizens of Mequon to build a safer, stronger community. Please note the portal is not meant to replace calling 911. If a crime or suspicious activity is occurring residents are encouraged to immediately report the incident by either dialing 911 or the Department’s non-emergency line at 262-242-3500. Posts on the Neighbors Portal will be reviewed, but the site is not monitored.
