I-43 County Line Road Public Involvement Meeting
A Public Involvement Meeting to discuss improvements to the I-43 and County Line Road and Port Washington Road bridges will be held in Christine Nuernberg Hall at Mequon City Hall from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 17. The public is encouraged to attend the public involvement meeting to learn more about the project and provide input.  Information on the planned closures and detours, project details, milestones, and next steps will be provided at the meeting. WisDOT staff will be available to explain the improvements and answer questions. Click here to learn more about the event.

Police and Fire Commission Select June 14 for Chief of Police Community Listening Session
The City of Mequon Police and Fire Commission (PFC) will be holding a community listening session at 6:00 P.M. on June 14 at City Hall as part of the Chief of Police recruitment process. The goal of the session is to provide an opportunity for the public to ask questions and provide input to the PFC about the Chief of Police recruitment.

City Promotes New Deputy Director of Public Works
Over the last several months, the City Administrator’s Office and Public Works Department have been working to address the Deputy Director of Public Works vacancy. The recruitment process, in which 14 individuals applied, culminated in the selection of Tim Weyker as the City’s next Deputy Director of Public Works. Mr. Weyker has 25 years of experience within the City’s Engineering Division during which he managed the City’s $1.5 – $2 million annual road program and has experience working with all Divisions of the Public Works Department. The Public Works Department will be working through Mr. Weyker’s transition in the coming weeks.

August Common Council Meeting Moved to Wednesday, August 15
The August Common Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 15 instead of the typical Tuesday night meeting. This change is due to the August Partisan Primary Election being held on Tuesday, August 14.

Mequon Nature Preserve Issues Spring Update
Earlier this week, the Mequon Nature Preserve released a newsletter with information on everything from restoration efforts and explosion of wildlife to current and future events at the Preserve. Please see the attached newsletter to learn more about what’s happening at the Mequon Nature Preserve.

Village of Thiensville Host A Night Under the Stars
A Night Under the Starts is the inaugural semi-formal gala held in Village Park benefiting the Village of Thiensville Park ReImagined project. The event will starts at 5:30 P.M. on Saturday, June 2 and will include a reception, silent auction, dinner, a live auction, and music. Click here for tickets and more information.
