Fire Department’s Deputy Chief Process Moves Forward
With the assistance of three Fire Chiefs from nearby municipalities, the City held panel interviews for the Deputy Chief position on Tuesday, March 5. Chief Bialk and Assistant Administrator Schoenemann were there to facilitate the interviews in addition to 3 members of the Board of Police and Fire Commission (PFC) in attendance to observe during the day-long process. The results from the panel interview will be used to generate an eligibility list that will go before the PFC for approval at their next meeting. Chief Bialk will then select a candidate from the list to fill the position. It is anticipated that a Deputy Chief will be on the job by the beginning of next month assuming the candidate passes all pre-employment testing requirements.
