Donges Bay Road Rehabilitation Moves Forward
The pavement and shoulders of Donges Bay Road between Wauwatosa Road and Cedarburg Road are being rehabilitated in 2018. The finished roadway will feature 12’ driving lanes with a minimum of 5’ paved shoulders throughout the project. Additionally, Canadian National (CN) Railroad has completed the preliminary work of updating the railroad crossing. The Highway Division of the Public Works Department has completed the required drainage culvert and ditch work.  Now the remaining work of pulverizing and/or milling the old existing asphalt pavement, grading and compacting of the roadway base material, utility manhole adjustments, minor curb repair, and re-paving new asphalt is contracted to Payne & Dolan, Incorporated of Jackson, Wisconsin. Payne & Dolan anticipates starting the work on June 30 and completing the project by July 23, which is ahead of the City’s September 1 target completion date.  Donges Bay Road will remain open to local traffic throughout construction; however, there may be slight delays as traffic navigates through the construction zone. More information can be found by clicking here to go to the Engineering Division’s Annual Road Program page on the City’s website.
