Migration to Office365 Continues
The City’s IT Coordinator, Len McCaw, is in the process of migrating the City’s email server from the “on-premise” system to a cloud-based Microsoft Office365 system over the next few months. The migration process is a multi-step process. The City email system was moved to another intermediate server last week because the City’s “on-premise” system was too old to update to Office365. The current look and functionality is temporary and will change once more to Office365 when the process is complete by the end of the first quarter of 2019. There may be brief periods in which the City’s email system is down during the process. The end result will save money by reducing support costs and software licensing renewals. Plus, the City’s email functionality will no longer be vulnerable to internet outages and the email system will remain functional no matter what happens at City facilities. Further updates will be provided as the process moves forward.

Department of Revenue Bureau of Equalization to Conduct Onsite Reviews
Staff appraisers from the Department of Revenue Bureau of Equalization will be conducting onsite assessment reviews of selected real estate parcels in Mequon. The reviews involve viewing the land and improvements from the road, taking photographs, and in some cases interviewing the current and/or previous owners. The purpose of the review is to aid the Department in identifying market value of parcels. Staff will have state-issued photo ID’s displayed at all times. The review is expected to begin in mid-February and completed by April 30.
