Two People Rescued from House Fire on Parkview Drive
The Mequon Fire Department rescued two people from a house fire on Parkview Drive Thursday morning, August 15, at about 10:00 am.  The Department responded to a report of a house fire and while en-route were informed of two people trapped in the home.  Upon arrival the garage was fully involved in fire with flames extending into the home.  One person in the home had mobility issues and the other was the caregiver. Rescue personnel entered the home under heavy fire and smoke conditions and with the assistance of the Mequon Police Department rescued the two occupants out through a window. One person was transported to a hospital and the other refused transport. The fire was extinguished with help of mutual aid fire companies.

Report on Water Infiltration into Sewer System from Private Property in Development
The City has a history of striving to reduce water from entering its sanitary sewer system to maintain the system’s capacity. Staff is continuing to develop additional work plans to reduce Private Property Inflow and Infiltration (PPI/I). The latest effort is to strategically prioritize work plans based on system-wide demands and areas that have experienced a history of non-compliant overflows. This step also satisfies the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District’s PPI/I Program deadline requirements per the enclosed letter.  A copy of the preliminary report will be presented to the Sewer Utility Commission later this fall for review and discussion.
