Common Council Holds Annual Organizational Meeting
The annual organizational meeting took place on Tuesday, April 16. At this meeting, Mayor John Wirth, Alderman Robert Strzelczyk, and Alderman Jeffrey Hansher were sworn into office. Committee assignments and appointments were also approved. Common Council President Strzelczyk made the following assignments:

City Hall Parking Lot Construction Begins Next Week
With the rain and snow this week, the contractor has delayed the start of the parking lot construction to April 22, 2019.  Please click here to view additional information about the project and alternative parking locations available to the public during construction.

Police Department to Host Drug-Take-Back Day on April 27
Safely dispose of all unwanted, unneeded or expired medications from 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 27 at Concordia University located at 12800 N. Lake Shore Drive, Mequon. Participants may dispose of solid, non-liquid medication(s) by removing the medication from its container and disposing of it directly into a disposal box or into a clear sealable plastic bag. Blister packages are acceptable without the medications being removed. Liquids, creams, and sprays must be in their original packaging. Arbor Day Event Scheduled for Sunday, April 28
Arbor Day festivities will be held at River Barn Park Pavilion from 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 28. There will be a tree planting demonstration at 2:00 P.M. and free trees and shrubs will be made available for pick up. Please see the attached flyer for more information about this fun-filled family event.

Ozaukee County to Host Clean Sweep Event on Saturday, May 11
Clean Sweep is an opportunity for residents, agricultural producers, and some businesses to properly dispose of hazardous waste, used tires, electronics, and appliances. The event will be held from 8:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 11, at the Ozaukee County Highway Shop located on 1221 Hilltop Drive, Cedarburg. Fees may apply for the disposal of certain items.
